Bible Friday 8/15: Mary at the Wedding

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 110:1-7. Verse 4, how does the eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ benefit me and obligate me? What is its practical significance for me today, here and now?

Joshua 5:1-15. God’s military captain, the angel Michael, appears to Joshua. What battle do I need Michael to help me fight today? Shall I call upon him and put myself under his command?

Luke 2:41-50. Mary senses her role changing as Jesus begins to grow up. Do I sometimes make the mistake of thinking I’m responsible for Jesus, when in fact I’m resonsible to Jesus?

John 2:1-12. Verse 5, do whatever Jesus tells you. What does the Virgin Mary have to teach me today through these immortal words of hers?
