Bible Saturday 8/16: Down Fell the Wall

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 111:1-10. Verse 10, does the fear of the Lord have its proper place in my Christian walk? What’s at stake? Action point for today?

Joshua 6:1-27. Conquest of Jericho. What am I struggling with in my life right now, that requires patience, persistence, and unfaltering faith in God? What’s lost if I quit too soon?

Acts 24:1-21. Paul again stakes his life and liberty on the hope of the resurrection. How can the hope of the resurrection make all the difference for me today?

Mark 12:13-17. Does my church have the right balance that Jesus required of us, between rendering to God and rendering to Caesar? What’s the consequence of getting it wrong? My role?
