Bible Sunday 8/17: Felix Trembled

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 116:1-19. Verse 15, who that has died, precious n God’s sight, do I lovingly remember today? What can I learn from that person about the Christian life?

Joshua 7:1-26. Achan, seeking to enrich himself from the spoils of Jericho, pays with his life. When have I tried to cheat God? What was the consequence?

Acts 24:22-25:12. Verse 25, Felix trembled at Paul’s preaching. Do I know someone who seems drawn to Jesus but can’t quite commit? How shall I pray for that person today?

Mark 12:18-27. What benefit is mine as a result of following Jesus, who is the God of the living, not the dead?
