Bible Sunday 8/10: Hosanna

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 102:1-28. Verse 28, what is possible for me today, what is promised me, as a result of God having established me forever?

Haggai 2:1-23. Verses 6-9, what evidence is all around us that God is shaking all things? What’s the evidence that this will lead—if we are faithful—to greater glory than ever for him?

Acts 21:26-36. As the Jews mob Paul, intending to beat him to death, Roman soldiers rescue him. Earlier, when human caution warned him of this very peril, he obeyed divine daring instead. Which shall I obey today?

Mark 11:1-11. On Palm Sunday, a colt (donkey) for Jesus is mysteriously found in readiness. When have I obeyed the Lord purely by faith, not by sight, and realized he knew best? Application to present needs?
