Bible Monday 8/11: Joshua Steps Up

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 103:1-22. Verse 2, exactly how does my tendency to forget God’s benefits operate on a typical day like today? What are the consequences? How can I counteract that forgetting?

Joshua 1:1-18. Joshua, commissioned by God to succeed Moses, is repeatedly told to be of good courage. In what regard do I particularly need courage today? Is it just a matter of will-power, or what?

Acts 21:37-22:29. Verse 12, for whom can I act the part of Ananias today, putting him or her in contact with Jesus to begin life anew?

Mark 11:12-19. Verse 17, what practical steps can i take to make my church—and my home and my workplace—more truly the houses of prayer that Jesus wants them to be?
