Bible Thursday 9/18: But God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 49:1-20. Verse 15, how is everything better for me, here and now today, by the assurance that God in due time will redeem me from death?

Judges 15:1-20. The Spirit of the Lord makes Samson invincible against the Philistines. What shall I ask the Spirit to empower me to do for the glory of God today?

James 1:1-12. Verses 5-8, in what way does my faith sometimes waver? How can I strengthen it today? How can I put off a double-minded outlook and singly believe God?

Luke 6:20-26. In my life right now, how am I feeling poor, hungry, sorrowful, or persecuted by a harsh world? What reward is even now coming to me from Jesus?
