Bible Wednesday 9/17: An All-Nighter

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 45:1-17. Verse 7, how will my day be different if I spend it with the Son of God who loves righteousness, hates wickedness, and is anointed with the oil of gladness?

Judges 14:1-20. Samson, mighty in body but unsteady in judgment. When have my weaknesses tended to undermine my strengths? If I pray God to make me more useful to him today, can I rise to the moment?

II Corinthians 13:1-14. Verse 5, if I really believe that Jesus Christ is in me today, with all the power and purpose this implies, what attitudes and actions will result from that?

Luke 6:12-19. Jesus’ night of prayer is followed by a day of healing. What is my greatest need for his healing touch right now, for me or someone I care about?
