Bible Tuesday 9/16: Jesus Calls the Question

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 8, what song shall I listen to God singing over me in tonight’s darkest hours?

Judges 13:1-25. Samson, a child of promise for God’s deliverance of Israel from its enemies. When have I sensed God laying a special duty on me? How shall I attune my spiritual ear for the next such duty today?

II Corinthians 12:14-21. What can I learn about building up the Body of Christ from the example of Paul’s tough love and tender care for the fledgling church at Corinth?

Luke 6:1-11. Verse 9, Jesus frames a stark choice for each of us, either to do good or evil, to save life or destroy it. How many times in the past week have I hesitated in the mushy middle? Action point for today?
