Bible Sunday 9/28: Jabez at Prayer

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 77:1-20. Verse 12, meditating on God and his work. Today how can I put the main focus of my thoughts and feelings more on Him and less on me?

I Chronicles 4:1-43. Verse 10, the famous prayer of Jabez. What would it specifically look like if God granted me the elements of this petition over the rest of 2025, the next hundred days or so?

Galatians 2:1-10. Paul and Peter divide the mission field, Jews to the latter and Gentiles to the former. Should I have a map and a plan for the gospel work Jesus has assigned me, or just continue improvising?

Luke 8:22-25. Is there a storm in my life right now that I need Jesus to show up and calm for me? When he does so, and then asks where my faith has been all this time, what shall I tell him?
