Bible Monday 1/26: Evidence

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 16, God’s tender mercies. In what specific way do I need to experience these today? What can I do right now to put myself in a position to receive his mercies?

Deuteronomy 15:1-23. God requires his people to grant release from debt or servitude in the seventh year. Can I do better at holding my economic ideas accountable to kingdom ethics?

Hebrews 11:1-7. Ancient heroes of the faith, before Christ came. Today how can I be more like Abel, more like Enoch, more like Noah?

Matthew 7:7-11. Related, what have I prayed and prayed for, but seemingly with no answer? Do I need to lean more trustingly on the character of God, a benefactor more gracious than any human father?
