Bible Sunday 12/18: Man of Sorrows

Psalm 24:1-10. In acclaiming Jesus as the King of glory, what images and qualities come to my thought.  What can I specifically do today, to so honor him? How would I paraphrase that title in everyday language for an unchurched friend?

Isaiah 53:1-12. Now a different title for Jesus: man of sorrows, suffering servant. How does this prophecy of his sacrificial death shed light on the meaning of his miraculous birth?

Revelation 18:21 - 19:10. What, where, and when is the marriage supper of the Lamb (verse 9)? Who is invited, and am I? What difference does it make on this busy day of earthly demands?

Matthew 24:32-44. In seeking the right attitude about the end times, neither too disengaged nor too absorbed, how can verses 36 and 42 particularly help me?

These are some of the questions I asked myself in studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide. Click and see what you think.  Where is your self-examination leading today?
