Bible Wednesday 10/25: Incendiary

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 38:1-22. Verses 8 and 9 KJV, since David didn't hold back from roaring or groaning to God, why should I? Is there any deep hurt or need or fear I'm not freely confiding to him?

II Chronicles 5:1-14. If God's glory isn't physically seen and felt in my church as it was at the temple dedication (verse 14), in what way do we witness or perceive his glory now?

Ephesians 6:1-9. Besides the sin nature besetting us always, what present-day influences subvert the godly parent-child relationship commanded here? What's my church doing about it?

Luke 12:49-53. What fiery and divisive consequences has Jesus brought about in my life or my family? With what benefit? At what cost? Action point?
