Bible Monday 11/6: Crown of the Year

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 65:1-13. Verse 11 KJV, as Thanksgiving approaches, how many ways can I think of that God has crowned this year with his goodness?

II Chronicles 17:1-19. Verses 7-9, what a reversal from that time when teachers were God's ministers and the curriculum was God's book, to our day when such is forbidden in most schools. What's been the price? What's the road back?

James 5:13-20. How can I, my family, and my church become more prayer-centered? Practical resolve from now to Thanksgiving Day?

Luke 14:15-24. In what way do I make excuses to God? What feast or fellowship with him am I thus missing out on? If not too late, what shall I start doing differently?
