Bible Sunday 11/5: King Who?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalm 24:1-10. Verses 7-8 KJV, as an American, ten generations removed from monarchy, do I tend to resist owning God as my King? What do I balk at? Steps for change?

II Chronicles 16:1-14. Verse 9, realizing that God sees everything -- everything -- this week in my thoughts and actions what has he seen that pleased him? That displeased him? Next move?

James 5:1-12. Verse 11, why do we hold up Job as a hero of the faith? What challenge am I facing that calls for more of what he exemplified?

Luke 14:7-14. What's the real lesson here, beyond where to sit at weddings? What's it have to do with following Jesus? Would my family and friends describe me as this kind of person?
