Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalm 40:1-17. Verse 7, if I knew there was a specific page about me in God’s book of life, how would that change me today? What if every page of the Bible is also about me?
Numbers 26:1-65. Same thought, further. Are the people around me at church, or on my street, or in a crowd, any less precious individually to God than those enumerated here? Action point?
Acts 17:1-9. Verse 6, why did it seem Paul had turned the world upside down? Are the implications of the gospel that dramatic in my personal world? Am I going deep enough?
Mark 10:1-12. Same thought, specific to marriage. If Jesus returned today, would he approve Christians’ approach to divorce? What is my church doing about this?
