Bible Monday 8/20: Better Body

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 35-37, how do I, my church, and other Christians traffic with worldliness as described here? What should we do differently? First step?

II Kings 16:1-20. Verses 7-9, how do the people of God today literally or figuratively pay protection money to the earthly powers seeking to enslave us?

Philippians 3:12-21. Verse 21, theology of the body. How can I more fully entrust my body to the Lord Jesus -- health, appearance, fitness, aging, problems large and small?

Mark 11:1-11. Verse 10, expecting a political messiah. When have I placed false expectations on Jesus, an obstruction to partaking in who he really is?
