Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 37:1-40. Verses 9, 11, 18, 22, 29, and 34 KJV. what have I inherited from my earthly family? What do I inherit from my heavenly Father? How do they compare?
Exodus 11:1-10. Verse 3 KJV, what winsome qualities would have to be evident in me that people would notice and say, “See how God favors him”? What qualities in me would have the opposite result?
I Corinthians 5:1-13. Verses 6-8 KJV, the leaven of wickedness. What small sin in me or my church could soon put us entirely out of communion with the Lamb of God, Christ crucified? Action point?
John 5:31-47. Verses 39 and 46, reading daily about Moses this month, where can I discern him foretelling Jesus? Why does it matter?
