Bible Tuesday 5/7: Hitherto

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 39:1-13. Verses 1 and 3, what shall I specifically ask of God to please him better in how to use my tongue, and how not to?

Exodus 9:1-35. “Let my people go,” rallying cry of the civil rights movement. How can I and my church do more to foster racial healing and reconciliation in our community?

I Corinthians 1:18-31. Verses 26-28, in what degree does my church model this? In what degree do we go with the flow? Prayer point?

John 5:16-24. Verse 17 KJV, if both the Father and the Son are actively at work right now (“hitherto”), what can that mean in my experience as this day goes along?
