Bible Sunday 2/16: Alive to God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 115:1-18. Verse 1, how can I make my prayers today more about God and for his sake, than about me and for my own sake? Why does it matter?

Jeremiah 13:1-27. Verses 7-10, how does the sin of pride ensnare me, my family, and my church? Prayer point for today?

Romans 6:1-14. Verse 6, what are some aspects of my old selfhood, old identity, that was crucified with Christ? How do those attempt to reappear in me? What’s my defense in Christ?

Matthew 12:22-30. By what reasoning does the worldly mind today cast Jesus, his teachings, and his church as agents of evil? How can I in return speak to that mentality about the kingdom of God?
