Bible Monday 4/6: Power of Prayer

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 87:1-7. Verse 5, how do I obtain a Zion birth certificate? How will it benefit me during this pandemic?

Lamentations 4:1-22. Verses 2 and 22, how does the virus present a Kingdom opportunity as millions see their security eclipsed by disruption and dread? My church’s role? My role?

John 12:37-41. Verse 38 KJV, what evidence have I seen in my life that the arm of the Lord is strong to rescue and protect his faithful ones? Application for the present crisis?

Matthew 21:18-22. Verse 21, if I were capable of mountain-moving prayer, what would I use it for today? How can I rise a little higher in the scale Jesus describes here—more faith, less doubt?
