Bible Tuesday 4/7: Ready?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 89:1-52. Verses 6-8, with the pandemic raging, what appears to be stronger than God, a match for him, or outside his control? How shall I pray for him to defeat that?

Lamentations 5:1-22. Verses 15-17, what is America’s share, and my own share, of the sins of the world that Jesus died for? What can I do today to show him my gratitude?

John 12:42-50. Verse 43, judging by what we’ve done and left undone in the month since the virus hit, in what way might this damning verdict apply to my church and to me? Action point?

Matthew 25:1-13. Verse 10, what attitudes and actions constitute the readiness God demands of me in order to be “on the inside” with Jesus the Bridegroom?
