Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 15 KJV, looking for a few minutes right now, with the eye of my heart, at God’s face, what qualities of his character do I see there? And beholding all that, how can I expect my day to be better?
I Samuel 4:1-12. Verse 9 KJV, David’s faith had been tested by fire. What are some ways in which God has redeemed my soul from adversity? By what attitudes and actions can I thank him today?
Acts 11:1-18. Verses 15-18, how Jesus, by sending the Holy Spirit, makes persons equal who before were unequal. What guidance does this give for my Christian walk at a turbulent time in our land?
Mark 6:45-52. Verse 50, what fears are right now weighing upon me and those close to me? How does the same Christ who walked the waves and stilled the storm, shield us from all those threats?
