Bible Thursday 12/16: Glory to Him

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 115:1-18. Verse 1, what specific opportunity can I find today to give more glory to God and less glory to myself?

Daniel 8:1-27. Verses 15-17, how can I develop in myself the sixth sense that enabled prophets like Daniel to commune with angels like Gabriel for the welfare of God’s people?

Revelation 19:1-10. In my status as part of the church which is the Lamb’s wife, the bride of Christ, what is given me and what is asked of me today?

Matthew 23:29-36. Verse 34, the impulse to crucify God’s messengers. What subtle forms does this take in everyday life? Am I entirely free of it?
