Bible Tuesday 5/4: Daybreak

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 5:1-12. Verse 3, how can I make my morning time with God more pleasing to him and more beneficial to myself?

Exodus 23:1-33. Verses 23-25 and 31-33, what validity does God’s requirement of religious and cultural separatism from pagan neighbors still have for me, my family, and my church?

I Corinthians 7:1-9. Related, in its expectations for how men and women should behave toward one another, how much is my church influenced by evolving beliefs in the wider world?

John 7:20-31. Verse 23 KJV, Jesus’ ministry of making people whole. How can I benefit from this today? How can I be his instrument in carrying out that ministry?
