Bible Sunday 11/2: Shout for Joy

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 5:1-12. Verses 2 and 3, how can I give myself over to God in prayer more fully today than I did yesterday?

II Chronicles 10:1-19. Solomon no sooner dies than civil war threatens to divide the Israelites. Why are God’s people forever riven with disunity down through the ages? What is my church doing about it?

Colossians 3:18-4:1. How God commands the Christian household to serve each other with mutual love and honor. Why do so many fall so far short of this standard? What is my church doing about it?

Luke 20:9-19. Verse 4, this is the heir; let’s kill him. Why is the worldly mind so desperate to be rid of Jesus? What is my church doing about it?
