Bible Monday 11/3: Give Each His Due

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 9:1-20. Verse 9, God is a refuge for the oppressed. What are the worst forms of oppression in these times? What is my church doing about them? My role?

II Chronicles 11:1-23. Verse 4, God restrains King Jeroboam from making war on the rebels: “For this thing is done of me.” When has God overruled my impulsiveness? What did I learn?

Colossians 4:2-11. Verse 5, what does Jesus mean by instructing me, through Paul, to redeem the time? What specifically shall I do with this today, what actions shall I take?

Luke 20:20-26. With elections coming up this week, how can I find the right balance between rendering to Caesar and rendering to God?
