Bible Sunday 10/12: There's a Cost

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 8 and 44, nevertheless. When has God given me the mercy I didn’t deserve, instead of the justice I deserved? By what actions can I thank him today and pay it forward?

I Chronicles 18:1-17. David’s military conquests. What warfare must I fight today for the glory of God?

Ephesians 4:1-16. Verses 13-15, how can I be less childish and more grown up today, in serving the body of Christ?

Luke 14:25-35. What is it costing me to be a disciple of Jesus? Am I prepared to pay more? How much would be too much?
