Bible Thursday 10/9: Household of God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 100:1-5. Verse 3, how am I often fooled by the false notion that I am self-made? How will today be better if I remember that God made me and I’m his sheep?

I Chronicles 15:1-29. Verses 11-15,after the initial disaster, David brings the ark of God into Jerusalem with due order. When have I unwisely taken short cuts in fulfilling my holy duties?

Ephesians 2:14-22. What does God expect of me today as part of his household, his holy temple with Jesus Christ as cornerstone?

Luke 14:1-6. Why were the Pharisees always getting it wrong in their clumsy fascination with Jesus the Savior? Haven’t I, just this week, fallen into some of the same traps they did?
