Bible Saturday 5/17: Light of the World

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 8, if in fact I delight to do God’s will today, what actions and attitudes would others observe in me? Is my delight spontaneous or deliberate?

Exodus 28:1-43. God instructs Moses on making holy garments for Aaron and his sons to wear—on pain of death—in their priestly ministry. How does God want me to “get dressed” in presenting myself before him today?

I Corinthians 13:1-13. The love that characterizes a true Christian. Who are several people toward whom I want to express this love today? What are several specific ways in which I will do so?

John 8:12-20. How is everything different for me today as I follow Jesus, the light of the world? What happens when I try to do without him and walk in darkness?
