Bible Sunday 5/25: Pray Bigger

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 67:1-7. What’s an example from the past 24 hours of why I need God’s mercy? How can I pay it forward to someone who needs mercy from me?

Exodus 36:1-38. Verse 5, the people bring much more than enough. What particular need exists right now in my church or community, where a flood of generosity from Christians is necessary? Shall I pray bigger?

I John 2:3-17. Verse 15, what specific choice is forced upon me today, between loving worldly things or loving my Father God?

John 10:7-21. What does Jesus the Good Shepherd offer me today, and expect of me? How can I keep near him today—and keep clear of the thief’s deadly malice or the hireling’s glib lies?
