Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 64:1-10. Verses 3 and 7, spiritually considered, what are some arrows that our enemy, the devil, will shoot at me today? What are some specific arrows that God shoots back in my defense?
Exodus 35:1-35. God wants us to work his purposes with willing hearts and wise hearts, he says here over and over. What will that look like as I go about the activities of this day? How will others notice?
I John 1:1-2:2. Jesus wants to take away my sin, provided I walk in light, not in darkness. Exactly what will that look like today? How does darkness tend to slip up on me?
John 10:1-6. As one of Jesus’ sheep, how will I know his voice today? What distinguishes it from the voice of a stranger or thief or robber? How can I get better at the knowing difference, not being fooled?
