Bible Monday 7/28: False Bread

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 17 and 18, what concrete evidence can I point to, of the lifelong continuity of God’s unfailing care for me? How am I thereby encouraged for the uncertain troubles of getting older?

Numbers 34:1-29. God specifies, through Moses, the exact boundaries of Israel’s new homeland and the princes of each tribe. Can I have the slightest doubt that his provision for my life-path is equally exact?

Acts 18:18-28. Lord Jesus, what must I do this day, this year, to witness for you more as Apollos did: mighty in the Scriptures, fervent in the Spirit, diligent, bold. teachable, helpful, convincing?

Mark 8:11-21. Verse 15, what steps must I take today to guard my Christian walk against the leaven of the Pharisees (religious legalism) and that of Herod (political idolatry)?
