Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 32:1-11. Verse 5, is God pleased with the time and effort I spend confessing my sins before him? Action point for today?
Judges 10:1-18. Israel’s repeated unfaithfulness to God, under judge after judge. When have I been a slow learner, trying God’s patience and grieving God’s heart? Am I almost out of second chances (verse 14)?
II Corinthians 11:16-33. Verses 23-27, Paul spells out all that discipleship has cost him. What has it cost me? If the cost is about to increase sharply, am I ready?
Luke 5:33-39. Suppose Jesus was radically challenging me right now—out with the old, in with the new, no more half-measures—have I the ears to hear him and the faith to obey?
